The First Doctor
Played by: William Hartnell and Richard Hurndall

The First Doctor was more realistic in the degree he was noted for making mistakes and stutters, contributed (likely involuntarily) by the late William Hartnell. Known as "Billy Fluffs" these stammers are the result of the old BBC practice of one take only, in the interests of saving time and money (indeed the ruthless schedule was what persuaded Patrick Troughton to leave after his three year contract expired).
